There are certain things in life that one can’t prepare for, such as the moment a parent is told their newborn has been diagnosed with congenital heart disease.
Suddenly a momentous occasion quickly turns to sadness and things change in a heartbeat.
February 14 is HeartKids Sweetheart Day, a national event held each year to raise awareness of congenital and childhood acquired heart disease (CHD), which affects eight babies born in Australia every day (that’s one every three hours). Four precious lives are lost each week, making this complex condition with no known cure, one of the leading causes of infant death in the country.
During January and February 2021, HeartKids will be raising awareness of the impact of CHD on families through a national advertising campaign. This will include a TV ad, radio, outdoor and print media.
You can help by sharing this campaign through family and friends and asking them to spread the word.
The campaign has been generously produced pro bono by DDB Australia and their partners, Initiative media agency with generous support of their networks and UnLtd who continue to be amazing supporters of HeartKids and helping us in many ways to support our community.
